Captain RHW Posted 17 February , 2018 Share Posted 17 February , 2018 Captain Cecil King RBA (born Cecil George Charles King in 1881) was a maritime artist of note (see Times obituary, 10 December 1942). His obituary says he served in the army in the Great War, though I also have a record of him living in London in 1917. Any assistance greatly received as to his service or any other biographical details. I have had no luck on lives of the First World War. Much thanks in advance. Captain RHW Posted 17 February , 2018 Author Share Posted 17 February , 2018 Fantastic, yes, that's him. Strangely I've now discovered in the Gazette he was made captain in 1910 in the 25th (County of London) Cyclist Battalion of the London Regiment but also in the gazette for 1914 it is recorded he is 'to be captain'.
