Ian N Megson Posted 16 February , 2018 Share Posted 16 February , 2018 Good evening. Can anyone help with this please ? His name was Thomas J Roundell. He was born in 1881 and died in 1960 He came from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire I am told he was in the West Yorkshire Regiment If any one can add to this thread, his family would be very grateful Thank you
RaySearching Posted 16 February , 2018 Share Posted 16 February , 2018 Certainly looks like the West Yorks cap badge in the photo Cannot see a MIC for a Thomas J Roundell Born 1881 he would have been aged 33 at the outbreak of the war He may have served at home only (no overseas service no medal entitlement hence no MIC Ray

Ian N Megson Posted 16 February , 2018 Author Share Posted 16 February , 2018 Thanks for the replys. I have since been told that he might have been working with and/or looking after prisoners of war. Dont know whether in Europe or in England....fair comment about his age, maybe he only served at home Would the West York Regt archives shed any light on where and when he enlisted ? Thank you
HolymoleyRE Posted 16 February , 2018 Share Posted 16 February , 2018 Electoral rolls for 1918 & 1919 have him listed as NM (Naval and Military) service...naturally this doesn't confirm overseas service. Regards Andy
