How many of the Barnsley Pals of the 13th/14th Batalions, York & Lancaster Regiment lost their lives on 1st. July 1916 at the start of the battle of the Somme? Vaughn

Hi Vaughn

Can I suggest two routes for you to research

Firstly the CWGC - you can download results from a search and from that estimate casualty numbers (this won't be exact)

Secondly consult the relevant war diaries available from either the National Archives (£3.50 each) or if you have access, free from Ancestry.
