Bennett Posted 8 February , 2018 Author Share Posted 8 February , 2018 Thank you Sirs. That was the MID I was seeking. Captain Town was killed by a shell (perhaps friendly fire) while leading Coy. A, 11th West Yorks during an assault on Inverness Copse, 20 September 1917. He was buried by the Chaplain the next day near where he fell, in the southeast corner of the Copse.
