ddycher Posted 24 January , 2018 Share Posted 24 January , 2018 Does anyone know what was at El Mughar at the end of November into early December 1917. I am looking at the Divisional level support for the 75th Division. Regards Dave
Eran Tearosh Posted 24 January , 2018 Share Posted 24 January , 2018 (edited) Hi Dave, El-Mugher ridge (including the Small village) is a very narrow an uncomfortable area for a concentration of a Division. Makes much more sense to concentrate in the relatively flat areas around, like Akir, New Akir (Jewish village), El-Kubeibe, Deiran (Rechovot, a larger other Jewish village in that area). This is the location of Div. 75 HQ on Nov. 27th: On Dec. 2nd: And on Dec. 4th: Although the maps show slight movements, I guess that in reality the 75th Div. concentrated around Akir and New Akir and didn't change location. That's only moment's away from El Mughar. Hope this helps, Eran Edited 24 January , 2018 by Eran Tearosh
ddycher Posted 24 January , 2018 Author Share Posted 24 January , 2018 Eran Would make sense. The war diary states "in the El Mughar area". Thanks Dave
