Howard Posted 21 February , 2018 Share Posted 21 February , 2018 I suppose everyone here has read Beneath Flanders Fields by Peter Barton et. al. If not, it is highly recommended. What a ghastly business it must have been digging the tunnels and laying the mines. Howard
Fattyowls Posted 21 February , 2018 Author Share Posted 21 February , 2018 I haven't which is some oversight. The thought of tunnelling makes me claustrophobic, the tunneller's bravery and endurance was something special. Interestingly one of the et al's you mention is Prof. Peter Doyle who is doing a talk at the GWF conference in April. Also interestingly (to me at least) is that I chanced upon Peter Barton at Spanbroekmolen on my last but two visit. Just had time to say hello, and probably why I forgot to go round the other side of the crater to take a photo. Pete.
