topgun1918 Posted 16 January , 2018 Share Posted 16 January , 2018 Steve Capt A H Peck & Capt J J Lloyd-Williams, No 111 Squadron, in Bristol Fighter A7194, claimed a two-seater brought down in Allied territory north-west of Khalasa, the crew reportedly taken prisoner. If it was a two-seater, it would not have come from a Jagdstaffel. Unfortunately, I have nothing in my files that identifies the German aeroplane or crew. Guest Posted 16 January , 2018 Share Posted 16 January , 2018 (edited) Mate, Thank you. Yes I can not find anyone either and as the Two Ottoman Sqn's in Palestine were far away from that area (both in the Maan - Amman Area), its unknown who these were. I wonder if they mixed some claims up as they got one on 8 Nov I was also after any details on these aircraft in the same book dated 26 April 1916 page 280 in Mesopotamia They claim the new German planes shot down a Seaplane and in another action Lt DAL Davidson was wounded in a BE 2c by a Fokker. The so called new Sqn (Jasta) was 2 Sqn of the Ottoman Airforce, a mixed German and Ottoman Sqn, which just arrived in Baghdad but was flying Pfalz A2 but no Fokkers. On the 13 August they claim a Fokker shot down over Shumran Airodrome the first to fall on that Front? Can these claims be confirmed and are there any details on them?
