Remembered Today:

surgical haversack suture tin

In the surgical haversack and the field companion are 12 glass tubes containing 30" of sterile silk for suturing. These are described as being kept in a tin. Does anyone have any pictures of this arrangement, or the size of the tubes and tin?

Have you tried the Wellcome Collection in London, who specialise in medical history.

Sorry, no I don’t. I was randomly searching the tinterweb and came across the photo. Unfortunately, it’s shown on Pinterest, which I don’t have a password for.
