Perth Digger Posted 11 January , 2018 Posted 11 January , 2018 Would someone please be able to pinpoint this original grave reference? The soldier, 2nd Lt M. D. Williams of the Queen's, was finally buried in Cement House Cemetery in 1920. An Unknown British Soldier was also found at the same reference. Thanks Mike

thetrenchrat22 Posted 11 January , 2018 Posted 11 January , 2018 Sheet 20 SW from the national libraries of Scotland Trench Maps website North West of Langemarck, there is a Cemetery in between Lannes Copse and Brienne House
Perth Digger Posted 11 January , 2018 Author Posted 11 January , 2018 Many thanks Peter and TTR 22. The WO thought he was a POW buried in Germany. Mike
charlie2 Posted 11 January , 2018 Posted 11 January , 2018 The WO must have misunderstood the RC notification. He was buried as a deceased PoW by the Germans in grave 528 at Weidenreft. Charlie
Perth Digger Posted 11 January , 2018 Author Posted 11 January , 2018 Yes, Charlie, the WO information came from Germany and they assumed Weidenreft was in Germany. Assuming the Red Cross information got to them, they would have eventually cleared their misunderstanding up. Thanks for the download. Mike
