Remembered Today:

James Miller from Morecambe Royal Engineers

Could anyone help Identify the regiment of the soldier in this photo from his cap or lapel badge?

His name is James Miller and he was from Morecambe. I'm sorry the photo is so small but it is all I have.

James played for Oldham RL in 1908-09 and remains the record holder for "tries in a match". He scored seven against Barry (S.Wales) on October 31st 1908.

What is more amazing is that this was his debut match in the first team!

Looks like an Artillery collar dog. Can't easily make out his cap badge though but, Royal Engineers?
