identifying a battalion

my great uncle enlisted in Sept1914 into the Coldstream guards his service number was 11569, could anyone tell me if he would of been in the 2nd or 3rd battalion please,

If your great uncle is Ernest Radford, he served in the 3rd battalion. This comes from the Register of Soldiers' Effects, which is available on Ancestry.

oh thank you very much, i had already downloaded the war dairies for the 2nd battalion by mistake and then realised my mistake, [must have been a senior moment]

Battalion in the WIELTJE Salient/Canal Bank on 24 March 1916. They were repairing parapets which had been blown in by shellfire.

Looks likely he joined first week in September.
