I am trying to find any information on D Murphy, Royal Munster Fusiliers no 7399. can't find him in medal index, any help appreciated.

7399 Pte Daniel Murphy enlisted into the RMF on 20.8.1914 and was transferred to 2nd Garrison Bn Royal Irish Regt with the number 2G/1323 in 1916. He was discharged (sickness) 21.9.16. and was entitled to the 1914 star and Silver War Badge.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply, I was getting Royal Inniskelling fusiliers on my search.

His RMF number indicates an original enlistment in early 1903.  It is probable he was a reservist in August 1914 who was recalled to the colours on the outbreak of war.
