JOVE23 Posted 26 December , 2017 Share Posted 26 December , 2017 Hello all, In conducting research on my great grand uncle Max Polak I've come across an interesting document collection in the National Archives in the United States: Maps and Plans of Temporary American Expeditionary Force Cemeteries, 1920 - 1922 It seems as though the Graves Registration Service made detailed plats of all the field burials of American soldiers. Here's an example of one from a Facebook group I'm a part of: This might be a useful resource for anyone doing AEF ancestor research! (Of course, the National Archives can't find Max's burial plat )
