1887 pattern bayonet for the Martini Henry

I have this wonderful 1887 pattern bayonet for the Martini Henry rifle and have been trying to find out which unit  captured it from the Jabbi Outlaws? The only unit I can find who may have been in the area around that time were the 2 Bn. Somerset Light Infantry...if any body else could shed a light on this I would be most grateful....

Also, I am looking for a 1913 Dated 1907 pattern bayonet, with hooked quillon, made at Lithgow, Australia....

Good luck with a 1913 Lithgow hookie. Total production was less than 1000 bayonets that year, with many of these having the quillion hook officially removed either during the war or during refurbishment in the early 20s. Of course, more elusive are the bayonets marked "Pratt & Whitney". This firm supplied the machinery for the Lithgow factory and 6 bayonets and rifles were produced and so marked to prove the equipment before it was shipped to Australia in 1912. I have heard of one bayonet in a private collection but have never seen it.

Cheers

Thanks for this info. I have been collecting Brit/ Comm bayonets for a long time so well aware of the rarity of the 1913 hooky. I know of several and one I found out yesterday was sold recently. I saw 3 at a small collectables fair a couple of years ago. 1 with hook and 2 without. The high prices have brought hundreds of 14 and 1915 Lithgow hookys out of cupboards...one will turn up eventually, same as a British Arisaka a friend is looking for. My friend had a Pratt and Witney 1907....it fetched a good price when sold... Merry Christmas...
