I would like to know what 1 G.B stands for never seen this before,any one know what battalion he was in ?

With Craig's  information I have found and read 1st Garrison battalion war diary,from October 15 to Feb 1st 1916, the last entry just says  embarked  to Egypt,they went to Palestine ,as the diary just stops he demobbed 14 march 1919, I have no idea what/where he went .His medal roll shows his only regiment being the northamptons
