chtilulu2 Posted 7 December , 2017 Share Posted 7 December , 2017 Hello, The sapper Charles Fredrick Saunders is buried in La Gorgue communal Cemetery (France - Nord) https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/540850/saunders,-charles-fredrick/ According to information from C.W.G.C., he was in the 139th Field company. Did this company really exist? Because I can not find anything wrong... Thank you for your help... Best regards Loïc This cemetery is interessing, concerning the royal engineers because there are Special company, Tunnelling company, Water transport, and also R.T. section (What is it?) clk Posted 7 December , 2017 Share Posted 7 December , 2017 Hi Loïc, 1 hour ago, chtilulu said: ...and also R.T. section (What is it?) From what I've seen there are only a couple of records for 250391 William Meakin. They say that he was accidentally killed on 11th December 1917 whilst serving with a Railway Transportation Section, Royal Engineers. I'm sorry, but I don't know what kind of duties he would have had. Regards Chris
chtilulu2 Posted 7 December , 2017 Author Share Posted 7 December , 2017 Hi, Terry, Chris, thank you for your help! also, thank you for the link, I will be able to find answers without disturbing you! Because I find it difficult to find units that were directly dependent on armies. Thank you for the signification of "R.T. section" ! :-) Best regards Loïc
