Hi anyone help finding out what this Soldier who died 28/8/1918 won his M.M. for?

Friend has asked as we found he was kia and in buried Peronne Rd Cemetery.

He was awarded his MM as 12/1211 Cpl. E. Rotherforth, York. L.I. (Fryston). London Gazette 30/10/1917 p.11341

Son of William Rotherforth, of Smith St., Fryston; husband of Eliza Ann Rotherforth, of 30, North St., Fryston, Castleford. Yorks.
