A ?new clip on YouTube since 4 November: the reception for Cpl. William Collins VC DCM of 25th Bn. RWF at Merthyr Tydfil in 1918.

Also starring a tank, apparently no. 113 "Julian".

I was very close to the site of his VC action yesterday.

An admirable lack of health and safety.  One wonders when young E Gough from Troedyrhiw and his chums were given the opportunity to vandalise the tank.

My favourite part, (on around 1.08 to the right of the screen). is when a big flat-capped fellow pinches a little chap's boater to wave.

What a joy to watch! Talk about a stately progress though...! What's the mascot on the front?

Looks like a monkey wearing a beret!

Not posted for a while!

Looking at the footage it appears to be the lower half of the town. Appears to take place near the parish church(St Tydfil's) but I'm not 100% sure on that. However the memorial to Sgt Collins VC is in the grounds of St Tydfils.

VC earned as a Cpl however his grave, memorial and other associated items refer to him as Sgt.
