Hello, everyone

I allow myself, for asking you some knowledges about the A.V.C lieutnant and nco uniforms

For the Officer jacket WW1 of an Army Veterinary Corps Lieutnant

The Lieutnant needs :

-2 title brass AVC on the shoulder 1 on the left  1 on the right

-And 2 pips of rank on the left and right shouldes

-The AVC collar badges

-The jodhpurs Officer

-The black leather leggings

-The uncle ammunition boots with iron part

-The Officer’s collarless shirt

-The cap with the AVC cap badges

-And the sam brown belt

-And the webley holster and the cartridge pouch

-The sword frog

-And the infantery Officer’s sword with leather scabbard

Is this good for a british Officer AVC during the WW1 in France?

For a Sergeant Major and Corporal:

-The cap with the AVC cap badges

-The collarless shirt

-The trousers of infantery ? or jodhpurs without leather part?

-The infantery jacket with AVC shoulder brass

-The puttes

-The uncle ammunition boots with iron part

-The 1903 cavalery belt

I would make a staff with an Sergeant Major and a Corporal and a Lieutnant like I saw on a picture.

Is it possible the Sergeant Major and the Corporal have the webley holster and the gun at the belt ?

Because for the commeration of the 18 november at saint Germain Au Mont D’Or and for the camp in Avignon in June we will be just 3 for the staff and I have thought about this picture.

If you want i post you the picture here?

Give me your opinion please because I want to honor the memory of the british AVC

Best wishes,

And have a nice day

Régis

Most of what you describe seems okay Regis, but the officers leather wear was brown, not black, and officers did not wear shoulder titles AVC, only collar badges.

Hello Regis

According to the Equipment Regulations current in 1914, all ranks of the AVC other than officers were armed with a sword but no pistol. It is possible that this was changed during the war, or that some men made private purchases.
