Remembered Today:

OETA South & Military Governors

Is there a book or internet source (And/or old GWF threads) focusing on the activities of OETA South?

I came across a name - Colonel Parker - in connection with Jaffa, and I assume he is the one who was

appointed as Military Governor of Jaffa (Appointment probably by late November 1917) & district. Can

anyone verify that?

Not sure if this helps, but Colonel (possibly Lt Col at that point) Alfred Chevalier 'Wallier' Parker was sent to Jaffa in late November 1917 (arriving on 20th) to compile a report on conditions there for the DAG.  He was only there a few days before returning to GHQ, and within a week or two was re-appointed Governor of the Sinai.  ('The Diaries of Parker Pasha', ed. HVF Winstone, Quartet Books 1983).

Cheers

He was still involved in the Sinai at the end of February 1919:  see http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C4561076

Yes, he left the post in 1923, seemingly with great reluctance!
