Jervis Posted 9 September , 2017 Share Posted 9 September , 2017 I recently read this book; an interesting read. It makes a lot of references to Great War veterans involved in the civil war. Both on an individual basis and more generally. It describes how their expertise and experience helped to win civil war. It also explains the resentment and friction with ex. IRA as the professional soldiers and officers were appointed to key positions in the fledging National Army over the former guerrilla fighters.
