unicorn Posted 22 May , 2003 Share Posted 22 May , 2003 Dear all, In the station of Gent St-Pieters ( Gand St-Pierre ) is now an exhibition. On platform 5 - 6 you wil find a huge map 2 on 3 meters made by the Belgian Railroad Company shortly after the First World for the "visitors". It is showing were the War cemetery was at this time and this for whole Belgium, so that you know whats the closest place was that you could go to with public transport. Also with it is an index - 2 on 3 meters great with the names of all the graveyards, and the total of the graves on it. The exhibition is till the 22th of June. Its worth a visit. I took some photographs but I dont suppose they will come out very well as it is lit from behind as well as from above. Would be nice to see the original that they took it from. It was also interesting to read above the index that information regarding rail times and fares could be obtained from the Belgian Railways office in Canon St London.
