100 years ago today, Gothas of Kagohl 3 launched the last daylight bombing raid on England. Increasing casualties sustained by Kagohl 3 during the daylight campaign resulted in a switch to night bombing after this raid, following a brief period of retraining for the crews. To read more about this raid on Kent, where bombs fell on Margate, Ramsgate and Dover, see the entry for today's centenary raid on my website at http://www.iancastlezeppelin.co.uk/#/22-aug-1917/4593993881

The picture shows damage to a house in Windsor Avenue in the Cliftonville area of Margate.
