BSM Mellis?

In my great uncle's war record (attached) 291st RFA, it shows that he had been caught "dirty on parade" on 21st April 2017. I have identified the 3 officers who signed him off 7 days F.P. Number 2. The only other signatory was the BSM, I think he is named "Mellis". Does anybody know him?

You don't say if you have checked Ancestry MIC?

 

There are half a dozen Mellis RFA on Ancestry - one is John Mellis WOII RFA so probably him. Entitled to BWM & VM. Regimental numbers 84326 and 1019287 - the latter number suggests a mid War transfer to RGA as my gf had a number in the 101 series after his transfer to RGA in mid 1916 - although more knowledgeable members may shoot me down!

Likely (WOII) John MELLIS 84326 and later (after war) 1019287 so he might have a service record with Army Records.

He does appear to be on the index of files that they hold - DoB 28th October 1885. Findmypast also have something on him here. Unfortunately my sub has lapsed.
