Failing miserably, can any Pal find the IRC card for my man Horace 240362 died as a POW. cannot for the life of me find anything. Ralph.

You need to start the search in ICRC records at surname TURNEY and it flows through to TWEEDALE !

PA33935 is Horace's card. POW at GUSTROW, captured at PERONNE 25.3.1918.

He has two cards,  PA 42742 records that he died of pneumonia at a Saxon Army Field Hospital in Hautmont

Bit of a puzzle here - Horace is buried in France at Hautmont Comm Cemetery (Grave IV B 16) and Gustrow is almost in the centre of Germany.

He died on 17 Oct 1918 some 7 months after capture. I am wondering if the POW camp was something of an Admin centre for out-housed prisoners.
