Hi

I dont know if anyone can help but I am getting a bit confused with the Battle of Havrincourt in Sept 1918.  I know the village was retaken by the 3rd Division on 12 Sept 1918 but a relative in the Royal Fusiliers died of his wounds on 27 Sept 1918.  Reading about the area it says some soldiers were killed on the 27th when the village was retaken.  Was it in German hands again or was it retaken by the germans.  We were there last week to visit the grave at Grand Ravine and would like to put together the final moments of his life.

Thankyou.

Brian
