neverforget Posted 5 August , 2017 Share Posted 5 August , 2017 The B.B.C. have, on the whole, done a fair job in commemorating the Great War in their centenary offerings so far imho, and speaking as someone who lost family members in it, I am grateful to them for that, and would have been most disgruntled if they had let it pass unmarked. I don't think that their offerings are aimed at the overly critical experts such as those found here on the forum, but rather geared towards reminding or educating the general public about the major events, and for this, I for one applaud their efforts. That said, I think we could have been spared the fictional War Horse stuff, and I agree that the inclusion of Alfie Boe was excruciating.
