GraemeClarke Posted 26 July , 2017 Share Posted 26 July , 2017 (edited) Hi Jonbem, does FMP give a cause of death etc. ?? Swisstony, you wouldn't have a photo of him, by any chance or know where he is buried ??? I have this on him Ernest Alfred FLYNN Private 3578 1st Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment Died in England on Monday 16 February 1914 Ernest was born in Egham, Surrey to John and Alice Rachel (née Edwards) Flynn of 11, Industrial Dwellings, Deptford, Middlesex and later of 76, Whitehouse Street, Birchills, his father, who predeceased him in 1895, being a leather japanner. A locksmith, Ernest enlisted in the Army on Monday 11 January 1892. He married Sabina Penketh Hodgkins, a Walsall born girl, at Elham, Kent in 1909 and then resided at 11, Oaks Road, Cheriton. Still a serving soldier, Ernest died at Walsall at 41 years of age. Regards, Graeme Edited 26 July , 2017 by GraemeClarke
Swisstony25 Posted 26 July , 2017 Author Share Posted 26 July , 2017 Hi Graeme, unfortunately we do not have a photo. However, this is him. I was interested in what he died from whether it was illness or from action I.e. Wounds.. Cheers, Tony
GraemeClarke Posted 26 July , 2017 Share Posted 26 July , 2017 Tony, Given his age and being prewar it was most probably natural causes. Could have been an accident but certainly not action/wounds from action. Graeme

Swisstony25 Posted 26 July , 2017 Author Share Posted 26 July , 2017 Ok, thanks Jon. I will locate his birth cert from Ancestry and then maybe order a copy for more info, Appreciate all your help on this. Regards, Tony
Donald D Posted 26 July , 2017 Share Posted 26 July , 2017 Surely you would need to order his death certificate to find out what he died from. It is possible there may be a post mortem report that has an identification number on the certificate.
