kingsnorth36 Posted 2 July , 2017 Share Posted 2 July , 2017 I am researching Lieutenant Mckay, McKay died of wounds 18 May 1918 serving with 179th Tunnelling Company, R. E.The award of his Military Cross appears in the London Gazette of 3 June 1918 - T./Lt. Alexander Matheson McKay, R.E. He died of Wounds on may 18th 1918. I am looking for anything on McKay, perhaps on his death or the circumstances of his MC it was a birthday award so no citation but perhaps there is some more information out there. A search on Ancestry reveals the following: Alexander Matheson McKay born 9 November 1891 at Newington, Edinburgh.
