theodore Posted 25 June , 2017 Share Posted 25 June , 2017 Private 9572 Ellis Price (2nd Worcestershire Regt.) was wounded in action (GSW thigh) 14th September 1914. His service papers give the following details: Admitted 17.9.14 (1st Stationary Hospital, Le Mans) GS Wound IX(2) right tibia IX(4) & IX(1) severe right thigh. Reported seriously ill 23.9.14. Died from tetanus 28.9.14 following wounds received in action. Can any member explain what IX(2), IX(4) and IX(1) means please.
