The effects records show in 1916 the effects were paid to his widow Florence I Baldwin - in 1919 when his war gratuity was paid it was paid to his widow Florence I Rowe (so re-married between 1916 and 1919).

This looks like the original marriage

I'd also take a guess that this is Charles' birth record

Craig got there first. I have reached similar conclusions. As he did not go to France until 2nd Sept 1915 and if we accept we have the correct birth reg then he may have seen his daughter

A Charles Albert Percy Baldwin was baptised 14 march 1900 by his mother Alice Maud Mary Baldwin and father John Baldwin.

In 1911 Charles Albert Percy Baldwin, a 22 years old  'checker', was living at 5 Ceylon Street, Battersea with John and Alice. There was also 3 brothers and a sister resident.

There are 2 Charles Baldwins who died 1/7/16. The other one was RE and from Liverpool. He was a policeman. Perhaps the photo is him ?

Hi everyone, Charles was my great grandfather.  The limited information I've got comes from BMD certificates.  For example, on my grandparents marriage certificate, her father is recorded as dead, with former occupation as a railway policeman.  I had assumed Charles never saw my grandmother as a baby, but I've looked at her birth certificate and he actually recorded the birth with the registrar! My mistake.

There's clearly a lot of research done above.  What's the interest? Thanks
