Guest Posted 20 June , 2017 Share Posted 20 June , 2017 Hello, I am writing a book. While it is fictional, it is based on true events that I want to be as accurate as possible. I am having a difficult time finding the process for sending an American soldier back to the U.S. Oklahoma, actually. I am finding a lot of information about the draft and that process, but I have a severely wounded soldier who has been sent home to be treated/die, really. I am looking for how that may have been executed if anyone knows anything or at least a process I can base it off of. I am looking out of keywords to search. If anyone could be of any assistance, that would be wonderful. Thank you. The website was very useful, I just need to see what happens next after a soldier is unfit to fight anymore. How did they get home?
sotonmate Posted 24 June , 2017 Share Posted 24 June , 2017 Harvard University has some material, including some digitised texts, which might help you to get some of the picture as far as US Forces go. Try a Google.
