Matthew B. Posted 4 June , 2017 Share Posted 4 June , 2017 Folks, I made a great discovery today in an old storage box of mine of a number of items I had collected many years ago and lost track of. One item was this certificate. I bought it over twenty years ago from a book dealer and have not seen one since. Can anyone shed any light on why the certificate was awarded and who Mr J. T. Hardman (I think) was? Many thanks, Matthew p.s. I have just found out that he was an orderly at the Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme Military Auxiliary Hospital, which would fit with where I bought it. Matthew B. Posted 4 June , 2017 Author Share Posted 4 June , 2017 Thanks Craig - I will take a look. Is this certificate a common thing? Its just that I have only ever seen the one I have. Cheers, Matthew

Cheers, Matthew I think it was a standard thing for the volunteers - if you look at the slideshow of images at the bottom of the page then there is another example -http://www.redcross.org.uk/About-us/Who-we-are/History-and-origin/First-World-War/Volunteers-during-WW1 Craig

MaleVAD Posted 29 September , 2017 Share Posted 29 September , 2017 This was a pretty common certificate , which I believe was issued with the war medal ????
