Is that [Charles] Leonard Woolley the archaeologist? I think it must be ... how interesting!

Probably! if he appears in the Archaeologists who served ... thread. I have linked this in to it anyway, to give people access to the book. Only sorry that I cannot help with the orderlies.

Just bumping this up again to see if anyone can help me with the missing page?

 

Only (roughly) one in four men survived captivity; those lucky enough to be taken by the officers as orderlies had a very good chance of surviving. Thus of interest to me to identify those survivors who were orderlies.

Hold the line. I will ask an Oxford friend if he can extract an image of the relevant page from the Bodleian copy.
