David_Blanchard Posted 14 December , 2004 Share Posted 14 December , 2004 Hello, I teach at a school in Skipton, and our History Department is planning a First World War day for our students in Year 9 (14 Year olds). I was wondering if anyone from Yorks or Lancs areas who has a collection of First War relics, weapons, uniforms etc would like to give a talk of an hour or so to our pupils? This day is planned for early February, if anyone is interested could you send me an e-mail off forum. Thanks David
Mark Hone Posted 14 December , 2004 Share Posted 14 December , 2004 I'm always willing to waffle on about anything-unfortunately I'm not a relic collector, apart from the odd defused hand-grenade.
David_Blanchard Posted 14 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 14 December , 2004 Thanks for your kind offer, Mark, but will you be able to get the day off school yourself? Regards David
Mark Hone Posted 15 December , 2004 Share Posted 15 December , 2004 Not terribly likely! If it happened to be in our half-term (which is an unusual week this year and may be different in Skipton) it might be OK but Mrs. H. might be none too keen as we are expecting our first grand-child around then.
