Previously a miner and goes on to become a public house landlord. Also big connections to Newbiggin by the sea. Born 1886, he was in Gallipoli and discharged for defective vision and goes into the reserves. I would love to find a photo or any other information. horatio2 Posted 20 May Share Posted 20 May (edited) I assume you already have his Royal Naval Division Record Card from TNA. - https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D726945 You say he was "discharged for defective vision and goes into the reserves." He was already a serving member of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve . He was discharged invalided from the RND and RNVR, so he did not "go into the reserves" thereafter. The only other service papers for this rating are held in the archive of the Fleet Air Arm Museum (National Museum of the Royal Navy). They should have his RNVR Enrolment Form and other papers. Copies can be ordered (fees apply). Edited 20 May by horatio2
