uncle edgar Posted 1 February , 2017 Share Posted 1 February , 2017 Looking for the location in France for the Evacuation Hospital #26 Thanks
TEW Posted 1 February , 2017 Share Posted 1 February , 2017 26 General Hospital was in Etaples June 1915 - July 1919. Can't be 26 Stationary Hospital as this did not operate in France. There is a diary available for £3.45 which covers 1915 June - 1917 Dec. It will only give daily figures for admissions and discharges. At best you may find which Ambulance Train or Motor Ambulance Convoy brought men in or or took them out again. TEW
petestarling Posted 2 February , 2017 Share Posted 2 February , 2017 Do you mean a US Evac hospital?
uncle edgar Posted 2 February , 2017 Author Share Posted 2 February , 2017 Yes, this was a US evacuation hospital. His service record card reads "Evac Hosp #26 MD to Disch" I found it included in a list of hospitals but it didn't give a location. I know it was somewhere in France by the family stories and postcards he sent grandma.
