charlie962 Posted 11 June , 2017 Share Posted 11 June , 2017 (edited) For the name TH Mullinger there is only one person on non-military records- Thomas Hanson Mullinger, born 1887 West Hartlepool, a blacksmith's striker on the 1911 Census- but I can't make any military match for him. Re post 91: Re MullingerTH -Found him- Thomas Henry Mullins 119318 RGA. His burnt Service record, 2 pages, survives misfiled with 119318 Joseph Bonner RGA papers. He was finally discharged to furlo' in UK 31/7/17 as fit for light duty only. Former trade wheelwright. Perhaps transferred to another unit and given another number which was used for his MIC? His number 119318 may only have been allotted in July 1916 when there were a number of compulsory trfs RFA to RGA so if he was entitled to say 15Star he might also have an earlier number. ie the119318 is only interim and doesn't feature on any roll. re post 90 Watson 43181 should be Frank Watson s/43188, previously 5188. Unfortunately he died of his wounds 12/5/17 but his Service Record survives. Note FMP have a casualty list for this incident, incorrectly noting him as 43189! charlie962 Posted 18 June , 2017 Share Posted 18 June , 2017 Diane, I've not succeded on some- the biggest problem probably the renumbering exercise that went on in 1917- might it be a good idea at the end to: i) note on the relevant original posts the corrections ii) post a list of names numbers and units still unidentified on a separate post ( with an appropriate title) to attract all those real sleuths out there who enjoy cracking such problems and are better at it than I. Charlie ps in the meantime I am trying to find the Times Casualty Lists, via local library site, that may cover this period. I don't think they've been digitised elsewhere, eg TheGenealogist.
