kin47 Posted 11 December , 2004 Share Posted 11 December , 2004 Does anyone have any information on troop transport IMMINGHAM, lost I believe in 1915? She does not appear in LLOYDs, so she must have been lost in an accident or other non combat incident. Thank you. don
Michael Lowrey Posted 11 December , 2004 Share Posted 11 December , 2004 Don, The Ships List has her as a vessel of the Great Central Railway of 2009 grt, built 1906 and sunk in 1915 in a collision with SS Reindeer at Lemnos. Michael Lowrey Posted 11 December , 2004 Share Posted 11 December , 2004 Don, Should have looked BVLAS first: the collission was on June 6, 1915 "off Mudros." Immingham is listed as a store carrier of 2,083 grt. Best wishes, Michael
robbie Posted 11 December , 2004 Share Posted 11 December , 2004 Hi, Interestingly the Immingham is listed on the site below as a submarine destroyed on 12.10.1918 / Lt Manley. Sank after a collision with a destroyer when her main motors failed. Crew rescued, CO and 1st Lt made a "free ascent" escape from the wreck http://www.gwpda.org/naval/sml00003.htm Robbie
