Julian Dawson Posted 10 December , 2004 Share Posted 10 December , 2004 My father gave me this postcard recently; it was found with the effects of his late uncle. My great uncle was born in around 1913, and lived in Hastings all his life. The caption reads German Submarine, Hastings April 18?/19 Can anyone tell me more about this submarine? And, can anyone tell me what this submarine was actually doing on Hastings beach in the first place!? I have a larger version of the picture if anyone would like to see it in better detail. Thanks very much.

Julian Dawson Posted 11 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 11 December , 2004 Michael, Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction. It seems like this was quite an exciting event in Hastings at the time. Julian
