Hallo everybody,

I'm researching the presence of British troops around the city of Mantua (Mantova in italian) - Italy,  in 1917-1918

I already know that british troops were generally detrained in Mantua and than marched to the Piave river.

I also know that Mantua was the headquarters of the B.E.F. for a brief period in 1917.

My first question is why Lord Cavan chooses this city as H.Q.

Then, any other information about British troops in Mantua (also scanned photographs) is very appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Alberto
