I was fiddling around with some CWGC data this morning and one of the things I looked at was the number of Lt Cols killed/died in 1916.  The total figure was 223 which is not that extraordinary when looked at in the round.  But I was surprised by the number of Lt Col medics; it was 12% of the total (Australian AMC- 2, Canadian AMC - 5, Indian MS - 5, NZ AMC - 1, RAMC - 13).
