BillyH Posted 15 November , 2016 Share Posted 15 November , 2016 This is the top right hand corner of a medal index card / SWB card. I have come across more than one of these with "MG" noted in the "cause of discharge" box. Could it be Medical Grounds, can anyone say for sure please? BillyH. ss002d6252 Posted 15 November , 2016 Share Posted 15 November , 2016 Who's the man ? It could be 'medical grounds' but does that not just duplicate the 'sick' reason Craig
BillyH Posted 15 November , 2016 Author Share Posted 15 November , 2016 Thanks Craig, That was the reason that I asked, it seems unnecessary. On the other hand, there is another odd variation on the same theme, below. BillyH.

There'd not be a medal roll but there will be the SWB rolls (which may or may not help) Craog Edited 15 November , 2016 by ss002d6252
BillyH Posted 15 November , 2016 Author Share Posted 15 November , 2016 The SWB records just add the note (for both of them) as "Medically unfit for further service" BillyH.
TEW Posted 15 November , 2016 Share Posted 15 November , 2016 I guess bad teeth or poor eyesight would count as Medical Grounds but without the Sick/Wounds. Para 392 III is Recruit within three months of enlistment considered unfit for service. Example 1 managed 13 weeks and 2 days. Example 2 ; one would think that Wounds would not be 392 IIIc, if the wound occurred post-enlistment you'd expect XVI surely? Or, did he enlist with an existing wound which was hidden for 8 weeks?
