Guest Posted 13 November , 2016 Share Posted 13 November , 2016 Hi, This is my first post and I hope this the right forum. There is an old drill hall in Gateshead with an inscription on it saying 1st N.T.V.A 1899 and I wondered if any of the members knew what this means.I take it to be some kind of volunteer organisation but not sure. cheviot

Ron Clifton Posted 20 November , 2016 Share Posted 20 November , 2016 Hello cheviot, and welcome to the Forum! There was a similar request not long ago, and the consensus view was that it stands for 1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Volunteer Artillery. Ron
