Hi,

This is my first post and I hope this the right forum.

There is an old drill hall in Gateshead with an inscription on it saying 1st N.T.V.A  1899 and I wondered if any of the members knew what this means.I take it to be some kind of volunteer organisation but not sure.

Hello cheviot, and welcome to the Forum!

There was a similar request not long ago, and the consensus view was that it stands for 1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Volunteer Artillery.
