Gareth Davies Posted 13 November , 2016 Share Posted 13 November , 2016 (edited) Yes they do. Volkstrauertag. It was suggested by the VDK (who are similar to the CWGC) and started in 1922. It is held 2 Sundays before advent and so is often the week after our Remembrance Sunday. This year they coincide. depaor01 Posted 13 November , 2016 Share Posted 13 November , 2016 The difference between British Remembrance and German is that nowadays Germany remembers all victims of war, not just those in the services. This wasn't always so of course. For historical reasons, Remembrance is 'quieter' in Germany. Dave
