looking at the news my dear wife asked"do the Gernans"have a remembrance day, to which I replied "dunno" :(

so learned members of GWF do they ,if yes when ? :poppy:

Yes they do.  Volkstrauertag.  It was suggested by the VDK (who are similar to the CWGC) and started in 1922.  It is held 2 Sundays before advent and so is often the week after our Remembrance Sunday.  This year they coincide.

The difference between British Remembrance and German is that nowadays Germany remembers all victims of war, not just those in the services. This wasn't always so of course. For historical reasons, Remembrance is 'quieter' in Germany.
