axial1680 Posted 13 November , 2016 Share Posted 13 November , 2016 I have been trying to work out what this page is all about on my grandfather James Connell's service record. Obviously something was tested in a laboratory but I can't read it properly. I do know he was a malaria case and at the very end of the war couldn't carry a pack due to bad acne and was transferred from the Royal Munster Fusiliers to the ASC. Is there a connection between malaria and acne? Also I have read quinine that was used to treat malaria can have an effect on any TB treatments. He died of TB in 1923. Bardess Posted 13 November , 2016 Share Posted 13 November , 2016 Cultures made from the specimen above and good growth of Staphylococcus Aureus [Golden Staph]. Enclosed please find autogenous vaccine. Each cc contains 1,000 million organisms; minimum dose ?/?0 of a cc = 200 million [organisms?] So it sounds like a skin infection? axial1680 Posted 13 November , 2016 Author Share Posted 13 November , 2016 Thank you for that Bardess, I couldn't make it all out, he did suffer from bad acne on his back and it says acne on the page too. Strangely so did I in my 20s! Thanks again, Paul
