mbriscoe Posted 12 November , 2016 Author Share Posted 12 November , 2016 (edited) About 40 prisoners died at the camp and were buried there. There are pictures showing the cemetery and memorial cairn. The bodies were later moved to Cannock Chase to be buried with most other German dead, the memorial cairn was destroyed though the rocks are still there. The local tradition seems to be that the headstones were buried at the site so they are hoping to see if the can find them because they carry a lot of information that is not in the records. Good film also about a man who has a collection of a couple of thousand bricks (I always photograph any unusual ones I see and send to the Penmorfa website).
