Remembered Today:

German (used) weapons for ID

From another recently acquired set of photographs - this one contains a number of German used mortars, machine guns, grenade launchers  and artillery pieces. Some appear to be captured weapons. While I can generally identify what I am seeing specifics of model types etc are not known to me, any insights would be appreciated.

The photos date from mid 1916 and were probably taken on the Eastern Front.

Rifle Grenade launcher with Gew 98...looks to be fairly intricate and with a sighting system. I have not seen a picture of this type before (but I have not looked too hard!)

Chris & Andy- Great photos & quick identification.  Chris, I am bringing the GW 16 to the display Saturday.  I will have one of those  c.1914 projectiles in the group.  I have never seen a period photo of one in use.  Great.
