Admin kenf48 Posted 5 November , 2016 Admin Share Posted 5 November , 2016 (edited) His service record has survived and shows he originally enlisted in the Territorial Force 20th February 1912 Handsworth Staffordshire Brigade ASC, i.e. North Midland Div. Posted to the regular ASC and renumbered vide TF part II Orders No 37 dated 9.9. 1917. Transferred to RE (46th Divl Signal Coy) 1. 1. 1918. Originally as a Pioneer becoming a Sapper after gaining trade qualifications. Service record can be viewed on FMP here and presumably on Ancestry. Initial information on the 46th (North Midland) Division, within which he apparently spent all his service can be found on the LLT here.
