Guest webbhead Posted 7 December , 2004 Share Posted 7 December , 2004 Does anyone know the approximate population of the village of Courcellette on the Somme line today? I visited recently and guess it to be around 200 people, but I'm not sure.
Paul Reed Posted 7 December , 2004 Share Posted 7 December , 2004 As one of them, I can tell you that at the last count there were 138 people in Courcelette. The population has been going down, like most Somme villages, in the last decade or so. One of the main farms closed last year, as the owner retired. Pretty typical of most of rural France, I suspect.
